Republicans: We are not fascist!

Also Republicans: We demand that you install our people to a post they have lost in an election!

298

u/oreo-cat- Nov 29 '22

You occasionally get ‘We’re not losers!’ While idolizing the confederacy. You know, the side that lost the war.

207

u/Nix-7c0 Nov 29 '22 Wholesome

"Lying Lincoln rigged the war against us! We demand a re-war! (But only against unarmed civilians trying to dance at private clubs)"

117

u/Castun Nov 30 '22

Ahh, but conservatives are also quick to claim Lincoln as their own when it's convenient because he was a Republican. Completely ignoring the history of the parties and how the two parties swapped platforms due to the Southern Strategy...

30

u/rimjobnemesis Nov 30 '22

They fail to see the irony, which just escalates their stupidity.

31

u/gruey Nov 30 '22 Silver

It also exposes their entitlement they feel towards all good things while they think they deserve none of the bad things. That's why the only reason they can lose an election is if the Democrats cheated. Donald Trump is a good person to them because he's on their team so only his perceived positive attributes count. Joe Bidden is literally evil to them because he isn't on their team so any good aspects don't count and all the negatives are amplified since they themselves are so pure in comparison.

They basically live life looking through selfish prick colored glasses.

9

u/RayCarlDC Nov 30 '22

I'd like to hear more how that happened. Can you give the gist?

13

u/buttholefold Nov 30 '22

18

u/RayCarlDC Nov 30 '22

Jesus, you can really see how racist Americans were. They literally won elections simply by being racist.

I always thought racism is everywhere in the world but I can't imagine a politician in my country winning by supporting racism.

20

u/buttholefold Nov 30 '22

"They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people” (Time Magazine 2015)

Awful lot of past tense in your comment

5

u/RayCarlDC Nov 30 '22

I'm sure many Americans are racist today, but segregation era racism is something else.

Also, iirc that's a Trump quote. The guy's a douchebag. But yeah, the fact he actually became president makes me think a good chunk of the US is really racist.

13

u/buttholefold Nov 30 '22

Dude they are that's what I'm saying

9

u/VERO2020 Nov 30 '22

Dude, I grew up in Florida, and I'm old, but I did not know how racist the U.S. is until the orange shit stain won the Electoral College and unleashed the pent up hate.

I still am amazed at how bad it is. My only consolation is that he lost the popular vote twice, lost by millions.

24

u/GailMarieO Nov 30 '22

I'm always puzzled by their use of the "Stars and Bars." As another Redittor pointed out, shouldn't the Confederate flag be white?

43

u/Verrence Nov 30 '22

While also saying democrats were the ones who were confederate and pro-slavery.

So which is it? Are you flying a democrat flag and celebrating the democrat confederacy? Or were the southern rural states-rights conservative democrats of that time a different party than they are today? And maybe the coastal/northern metropolitan liberal pro-federal government republicans of that time were a different party than they are today?

Schrodinger’s civil war.

Modern-day Confederate flag-wavers: "The Civil War was about state's rights!"

our new government foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery—subordination to the superior race—is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.

-Alexander H Stephens, vice-president of the Confederacy

"Well, it's part of my heritage."

The Confederacy existed for 4 whole years 157 years ago, well before most of the families of those people claiming it as their heritage immigrated to the USA.

If you count all the racists around still you could make the argument the union didn’t win hard enough.

4

My dad was raging once about taking down confederate statues in the south because it’s “erasing our history!!” And I told him it’s the same as Russia/Soviet Union removing statues of Stalin. Sure it’s history but we don’t idolize dictators and bad leaders. He was actually shocked and he shut up, which was nice.

4

u/MrMajestyx Nov 30 '22

I never understood their being upset about removing confederate monuments. I mean, those are participation trophies, after all, & you know how they just hate those!

Except some of them don't mind the fascist label. I don't think there's too many of them yet (and I pray there never is), but I have heard some right-wingers openly expressing that they would be okay with living under a fascist government if the alternative is even slightly left-leaning. Like, they clearly have no idea what it's actually like to live under fascism.

Git in Losers! We're goin' losin'!!!

56

u/Tickle_Me_Elon Nov 29 '22

Get in Losers, we're gonna go election-denying! Bring your own conspiracy theory.

53

u/sentimental_goat Nov 29 '22

Umm... Why are we still pandering to this blabbering degenerate? Trump should be irrelevant to anyone with a bit of sanity; the only people concerned about him should be the law enforcement. After he made the GOP perform horribly in the mid-terms, I suspect even his own party wants him to go away.

22

u/Spoonshape Nov 29 '22

He still has a tiny chance of getting the R nomination - although most of them have realized he is toxic (and more to the point will lose them a lot of votes).

Theres a positive and negative - he still has a lot of supporters -and can push his candidates and policies (if he had any). On the other hand theres the delightful prospect that he loses the R nomination and tells all his supporters to not vote for them or even stands against whoever gets picked and splits the R vote.

Unfortunately not QUITE irrelivant yet

14

u/KennethEWolf Nov 30 '22

If Trump losses the nomination, to someone like DeSantis, he will run as a third party candidate. MGT or Lake will be vhis vp candidate. He needs to continue the scam in order to suck in money to pay his legal fees.

9

u/GailMarieO Nov 30 '22

Agreed. Trump running as a third-party candidate and splintering off the Republican vote is my fondest wish.

4

u/CyberMindGrrl Nov 30 '22

The grift literally never ends because it CAN'T end for him. But sooner or later people are going to get sick and tired of throwing good money after bad and realize just how much of a liability he is.

Or, they'll just throwing money at him until the cows come home.

8

u/bigloser42 Nov 30 '22

In my wildest dreams he loses the GOP nomination and refuses to concede. He then runs under his own party, fracturing the conservative vote and the Dems win in a landslide.

4

u/Finnegansadog Nov 29 '22

I honestly think he has a much larger than tiny chance of getting the R nomination - he’s popular with a large portion of republicans primary voters, and none of the other likely candidates are going to siphon off much of his base. The somewhat more “sane” wing of the party will split their votes among the crowd of other candidates like Pence, Desantis, Cruz, Rubio, maybe JEB! again, and that will leave Trump with a strong plurality.

Democracy... Democrats. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! - Magas probably.

71

u/a_butthole_inspector Nov 29 '22

This is literally one of their talking points, it’s why you hear them spout that braindead “It’s Not A Democracy It’s A Republic” slogan

26

u/Trumpsuck77 Nov 29 '22

They say this because in their magical thinking if we are not a democracy but a republic, then elected leaders dont need to.be elected just installed. The ridiculous antics of election deniers will be their undoing. They are losing the younger generations and know they no longer can win any big national races. Slowly but surely they will eat their own. They are already doing it and it will get worse for them. They danced with the devil now its time to pay the fee. That being lack of representation due to their immature and flat out fascists policies.

16

u/drinks_rootbeer Nov 29 '22

It's true that we aren't a democracy, we're a representative republic. But we do use a democratic process to elect those representatives, and IMO, we should be pushing for more democracy. Like, even if you had a successful society run on conservative principals, more democracy would benefit you. They're just sticking their heads in the sand

3

u/transmogrify Nov 30 '22

We can be more than one thing. We choose leaders via a democratic process of voting, therefore we are a democracy. We govern via elected officials who represent the citizens, therefore we are a republic. We are also a geographical region united under a government, therefore we are a nation. But you don't hear people argue that being a nation precludes us also being either of the other things.

3

u/drinks_rootbeer Nov 30 '22

It isn't the same as a "direct democracy", but yeah I absolutely agree we can be and are more than one thing

2

u/transmogrify Nov 30 '22

I do really hate that argument, too. It's a total dodge, just utter wordplay by people who want to play games because they hate being held to reasonable terms of discussion.

Yes: democracy, republic, representative, federal, constitutional, presidential

No: direct, parliamentary, confederate, autocratic, theocratic

It's not boomers, it's repugnicans. Democrat boomers are on your side. We're the richest country in the world. We can do whatever we want (read: whatever we can wrest away from the money men controlling Congress) 1. Overturn "cItiZens uNiteD". 2. Make all political contributions transparent. 3. Enact ranked-choice voting (to send a message to moderate democrats that they better get off their ass and enact popular programs).

27

u/BannedStanned Nov 29 '22

Um...I've seen lots of Dem boomers bitch about participation trophies (sometimes after handing them out). That is, after all, what we're talking about here.

However, I mostly agree with you.

1: Yes. Only people have rights. Organizations or mutual collectives of people should not. The Constitution should not protect or recognize anything except a singular natural biological person. Businesses and churches should not have constitutional rights to anything, and should not be able to bring suit in civil or criminal courts.

2: Agree. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects was a terrible idea in any case: public servants should have no personal privacy in their affairs or financial activities.

3: Hard agree again. Populism is the path forward and has zero downsides.

I go to a lot of kids’ soccer games run by millennials because my kids play. A whole lot less screaming and aggression toward the coaches/kids and the ref, and ZERO trophies to be seen. We accept losses humbly and celebrate our wins quietly, but we celebrate all the players and it’s about teamwork, not individual dominance.

It’s sort of how humanity should work, no?

I was a little league umpire in a conservative area as a teenager and they were brutal monsters to me every game. Growing up kids got screamed at and blamed for losing then were expected to buck up and be happy because we got a trophy tossed in our faces. Yayyyy. Thanks Boomers.

u/shiafisher Nov 29 '22

Install someone as governor? I’m afraid that application is not compatible with our system please consult the manual

8

u/cancellationstation Nov 29 '22

Don’t you know that elections are only valid if they win- otherwise it was stolen!!!

8

u/BraveOmeter Nov 29 '22

Losers sure do tend to band together, huh?

You'd think by now with all of the trumpies' success at LOSING they might have begun to wrap their minds around the concept of not-winning after their series of horrible blunders in taking away rights, ignoring veterans, threatening social security and medicare, throwing our citizens and Government into chaos during a pandemic, and staging an insurrection to deny our voting rights by changing the results. Any one of these puts them on shaky ground with the electorate because they see through their deflections and misinformation!

u/Tombancroft Nov 29 '22

Repugs = Sore Losers and Smug Winners.

5

u/SunMoonTruth Nov 29 '22

It’s the main feeling those in the right are desperately afraid of and trying to avoid in all aspects of their lives. Being losers.

Oh, come on, they didn’t lose they’re just victims of the least number of votes. I’m trying on my “Republican logic” today, let me know how it works.

Trump commenting on Lake’s loss is just another attempt to remain relevant. Every day he wakes up scheming, stirring things up and hoping things break his way. But he would not win in ‘24 too many sane voters are tired of him. Not to mention mounting legal troubles.

4

u/Username_Kevin_ Nov 29 '22

So used to buying their way through life....

4

u/tvtoad50 Nov 29 '22

Isn’t that precious, he thinks since he just demands or steals everything little thing he wants he can do it with Arizona’s governor too. Well bless his microscopically tiny little heart. 🙄

Why does the Baboon/ Donald continue to speak in public . The audience continues to dwindle and his confirmation of being the biggest Idiot remain high on the totem pole..

3

u/nickelundertone Nov 29 '22

Bush was installed by the SC, that's where all the confusion began. You don't have to win outright, just get kinda close and your good friends will take care of it

4

u/davechri Nov 29 '22

C’mon republicans, you used to not be shit heads.

2

u/OdoG99 Nov 30 '22

Fascists, they used to not be fascists.

5

u/stacked_wendy-chan Nov 29 '22

The last repub president to have won the presidency AND the popular vote was Bush Sr., both W. Bush and Donut Chump won the presidency but LOST the popular vote.

Just to remind the loser MAGA how much of a loser Donut Chump is:

  • lost the 2016 popular vote
  • lost the 2018 midterms for the GOP, lost the house, lost the senate
  • lost the 2020 run for presidency
  • 10 out of 10 of his endorsed candidates lost 2022 midterms

He's a loser, he's not coming back, he's done. The predicted "red wave" was nothing but a purple droplet.

The repubs ARE losing, but if you want to believe otherwise, keep it up, and more loses will follow. Good.

2

u/thatoneguyinks Nov 30 '22

W won the electoral college and popular vote in 2004. In fact, if ~17,000 people across Nevada, Iowa and New Mexico vote Kerry instead of Bush, Kerry would win the EC while losing the popular vote

4

u/sjmiv Nov 30 '22

Senile old bastard thinks he's still president.

22

u/Zardotab Nov 29 '22

If one has Hunter's Magic Laptop, they can "install" any position with the click of mouse.

4

u/MickeyMouseRapedMe Nov 30 '22

Rudy had it but said he lost it. Where is Rudy now? I bet he and pillow guy browse that laptop while boozing and putting their pipes in eachother their mouth.

7

u/Minimum_Run_890 Nov 29 '22

Well, Donnie has tried his best to make America a great shithole country. Don't give him another shot

3

u/Crizbibble Nov 29 '22

Dictators are installed all the time in banana republics and fascists regimes.

3

u/gmoss101 Nov 29 '22

I said this in that new Trump subreddit cause I knew they wouldn't like it and sure enough I was banned lmao

3

u/SamuraiCook Nov 29 '22

I guess THIS is what happens when you give everyone participation trophies. You have a bunch of whiny, cry baby bitches that can't handle losing without throwing a fit.

3

u/DeeNYC45 Nov 29 '22

Republicans hate Democracy

3

u/PoptartMartt Nov 29 '22

Republicans can't win fairly so they have cheat cry and whine.

3

u/uCry_iLoL Nov 29 '22

Kari Lake is a viral cancer I don’t want installed in our democratic system.

3

u/Classic_Beautiful973 Nov 30 '22

I like how the suggestion is that there's widespread fraud, and it's only in the direction of favoring the left. As if we haven't seen the portfolio of sketchy behavior from the right with elections for decades

What is he still doing in the US anyway, I thought he said he would flee the country if he ever lost to “sleepy Joe”?

I guess in his mind he didn’t “lose” so he can stay put?

u/Oopsiewoopsieeee Nov 30 '22

Kari Lake is so gross dude I’m so glad she didn’t win

3

u/sarcastic_meowbs Nov 30 '22

The only thing worse than a sore looser is a LOUD sore looser. Someone needs to put Trump in " time out" until he can behave or until he is dead which ever comes first.

8

u/Captain-Neck-Beard Nov 30 '22 edited Nov 30 '22

Oh guys, it gets even better. So there is one county that is refusing the election results, it’s Cochise county. Interesting bit? They overwhelmingly voted for Lake:

https://newrepublic.com/post/169165/kari-lake-won-county-arizona-thats-refusing-certify-election-results

It literally can’t be more sad. These people have so legitimately bought into the election fraud junk that they are using it as a reason to act against their own political interests. You can’t make this stuff up.

Edit: not… entirely sure why I’m getting downvoted, but you do you Reddit

3

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '22

They aren’t acting against their interests. They’re trying to set a precedent for the next federal election when they do this to throw out dem votes.

2

u/mad_titanz Nov 29 '22

I should copy Republicans and go to a car dealership, demand that they give me a car by saying that I have brought it but without providing any proof. I should be able to drive away the car nevertheless. Winning!

2

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

The man will be his own undoing. I've been saying that for a while just let him keep saying the stupid shit and he'll keep talking eventually get himself in trouble because he's incapable accepting any criticism or blame for anything he's ever done. He's had the luxury of being rich enough to get away with it for so long and he just thought the American people were dumb enough to buy it a second time. I'm glad we're not but it still won't stop losers like him or Karie Lake from saying the stupid shit that people are paying them to say essentially. Like a really racist anti-semitic cameo lol

2

u/RandomMandarin Nov 29 '22

Trump thinks anybody can get installed just because he did in 2016.

2

u/Smokechip Nov 29 '22

No matter how you look at it a losers club

2

u/youngceb Nov 29 '22

Sorry sir, this is not a country for snowflakes and losers

2

u/No_Influence6659 Nov 29 '22

History is literally repeating itself right in front of our eyes - this is the test balloon to see if they even need to win anymore.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '22

Who’s this Donald Trump jackoff, that keeps getting free press?

2

u/Psychological-Gene84 Nov 29 '22

Agreed...at least according to the Constitution as well as standing traditional law in the US. However this, plus the current so-called "voter fraud controversy" in Arizona among endless other grievances, give perfect illustration to the kind of nation Donald Trump wishes to rule. A dictatorship in which he is free to declare elections invalid, and remedy it with an "installed" crony (oligarch) of his own. Sound familiar? It's the Putin model.

Unfortunately about half of the country seems to agree with him on that.

VOTE. IT MAY BE YOUR LAST CHANCE.

2

u/NESpahtenJosh Nov 29 '22

Who cares? Why are we even giving him the attention when it comes to six year old bullshit like this?

2

u/nobgobblr Nov 29 '22

Lol it’s like when that one idiot on Fox News said Putin & Xi Jinping prefer Trump to Biden. Um if you’re in good company with authoritarian leaders/America’s enemies, you’re probably not a good thing for America…

2

u/ptrang1987 Nov 29 '22

Damn it’s been weeks and Kari Lake still on that BS?

2

u/PigFarmer1 Nov 29 '22

Not neccesarily. Trump has never won the popular vote but he was POTUS so you can lose and still be elected...

2

u/PunnyChiba Nov 29 '22

Or Tim Michels

2

u/Ornery-Movie-1689 Nov 29 '22

Does anybody else feel that he failed American Government in high school ?

2

u/RammsayB Nov 30 '22

The America First crowd are so anti liberal they want to overturn a liberal democracy.

That is all you needed to understand to know why they are like this.

2

u/-kang_of_wakanda- Nov 30 '22

can we please ban boomer neolibs from using twitter
