Ohio State’s marching band is pretty fucking awesome. Back before I was a football fan I’d always watch their performances on YouTube and was mesmerized. Alright, I’m off to go rinse with some mouthwash now. Have at it guys.

Powerade is better from a fountain. I can't even drink it out of a bottle because it just tastes like (slightly) flavored water, but if I'm somewhere with fountain drinks, and one of them is Powerade, that's what I'm getting every time.

It's difficult to overstate just how important the NC State veterinary college is to our entire state. Amazing people doing amazing work.

Dook's Gothic architecture helps their student body pretend they really did get into Princeton.

(Missouri isn't a real rival)

86

Arkansas always plays fucking HARD. I love that about them.

36

u/putsch80 Oklahoma • Arkansas 5d ago

LSU’s tailgating scene is incredible, and fans outside the stadium at the tailgates were universally kind and welcoming, willing to share food and drink with fans of opposing teams and happily shoot the shit.

Inside the stadium was a different story (y’all’s fans turn into a bunch of godless savages), but I respect the intensity.

Buckeyes (the nut) are also really fun to throw at your friends when you’re stupid high schoolers killing time because your coach is late for practice.

Aggie War Hymn is low key a banger

The Aggie band does some of the crispest marching in the country. Those super-tight countermarches they do are hair-raising.

Also, doggo. Can't go wrong with a doggo.

Iowa State is a great engineering and Ag school. They had one of the first computers ever built, which is pretty cool. And they also have their stadium named after a very admirable student athlete, which I love how both major football programs in the state of Iowa do that

The ISU vet school also saved my cat’s life after he got hit by a car, so that’s pretty awesome too. I don’t really have any reasons to dislike ISU outside of sports

27

It's funny because 18 year old me vastly preferred Iowa's campus but ten years later, I much prefer Iowa State's layout (and Ames as a whole really).

I probably would've ended up there if I was making a college decision at an older age.

I love the song “Tusk” by Fleetwood Mac, which features their otherwise obnoxious band.

They’ve become a MUCH better academic institution since the 80s when I was in college and they were known as the University of Second Choice and the University of Spoiled Children. I’m even considering letting my son go there!
